Police Officers "Protecting and Serving"

We are fortunate to live in one of the safest communities in southwestern Illinois and are committed to keep it that way.

Officer Jake Renner conducted a traffic stop while on patrol on April 26, 2022.  During the traffic stop, Officer Renner saw a glass pipe with burnt suspect residue in plain view.  Officer Renner conducted a vehicle search and seized five meth pipes and five white pills tested positive for fentanyl.  One passage was taken into custody for an outstanding meth warrant (Randolph County).  The suspect driver was released from custody as Officer Renner would apply for a felony warrant for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (fentanyl).

Officer Renner’s proactive patrol method has resulted in removing dangerous drugs from the Village resulting in additional safety for the residents.

Thanks Jake,

Mayor Joe
