Tim Buehler appointed Police Chief

New Athens Police Lieutenant Tim Buehler was appointed by Mayor Joe Behnken to the office of Chief of Police at the May 15^th village regular board meeting.  Former Chief Leo Simburger resigned from the office.  We lost a great police chief with the resignation of Chief Simburger.  We are grateful that we had an experienced replacement with Lieutenant Buehler.  He has been with the force for over 20 years and has an outstanding record as a police officer and Lieutenant.  He also served as a former Chief of Police and an interim Chief of Police on several occasions.
